A high-speed electric passenger train and an inspection train, made in China and customized for the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) project, arrived at Indonesia's Jakarta Port in September. Several days ago, the trains and carriages were transported to Bandung and will go through a series of tests ahead of the trial run scheduled for the end of this year. With a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the high-speed railway will cut the travel time between Jakarta and Bandung from more than three hours to around 40 minutes. The Jakarta-Bandung HSR is projected to open to traffic next June.
