The Beijing Winter Olympic Village opened to the public as a sports leisure park two days before the country's National Day holiday, serving as a way to utilize the legacy of the Beijing Winter Games. The village, located in the Beijing Olympic Park, was the place for athletes and officials to live and exercise during the Beijing Winter Olympics.
After the transformation, the original shuttle bus stop has been turned into a kart track and the then Team Processing Center is used as a place for playing squash. The square, where flags of all the delegations fluttered high during the Winter Games, now is a place for sports such as skateboarding, roller skating, and biking. A sunken plaza where the Olympic Franchise stores were located has been transformed into a place to experience indoor skiing, archery and caving.
