At least 10 people have been killed and many more are missing after an avalanche struck a climbing expedition in northern India's Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand State in north India.
"Rescue teams have recovered 10 bodies," the Uttarakhand State police force stated on Twitter, adding that a total of 14 people had been rescued. The group, consisting of 34 trainees preparing for high-altitude navigation and accompanied by seven instructors, was caught in the avalanche at 8:45 a.m. on October 4.
