In the past few days, at least 13 dead whales appeared on the coast of the Golfo Nuevo and Peninsula Valdez sanctuary, in northern Patagonia. /CFP
The southern right whale is a baleen whale with two blowholes. The species inhabits the southern and sub-antarctic oceans, and migrates to warmer temperate waters around African, South American and Australian land masses during the winter breeding season. /CFP
