Energoatom says ZNPP will continue to operate in Ukrainian energy grid
CGTN

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (NPP) will continue to operate within the Ukrainian energy grid in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine (Energoatom) said on Wednesday.

The remark came after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the transfer of the Zaporizhzhia NPP to Russian control on Wednesday after Russia formally admitted the Zaporizhzhia region into the Russian Federation.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) responded to Russia's decision to supervise the Zaporizhzhia NPP by saying that its chief Rafael Grossi will consult with the relevant parties and travel to Ukraine and Russia to seek agreement on the plant’s safety and a security protection zone as soon as possible.
