Over the past few decades, the Pearl River Delta, where China's third-longest river flows into the South China Sea, has been one of the world's fastest-growing regions. It is also home to some 2,000 Chinese white dolphins. Nicknamed the "giant pandas of the sea," Chinese white dolphins are known for their pink coloring and friendly nature. At the Pearl River Estuary Chinese White Dolphin National Nature Reserve in south China's Guangdong Province, a team of rescuers is taking steps to protect these precious mammals.
