Truck plunges into Guatemalan ravine, killing 17

At least 17 people were killed, including two children, and 13 others injured when a pickup truck plunged into a ravine in eastern Guatemala near the Honduran border on Wednesday, said Jocotan Mayor Ramon Diaz.

Diaz said it appears that the truck, which witnesses said was transporting about 30 people, had stopped to pick up more passengers when it rolled down the mountain slope.
