The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, known as OPEC+, recently announced a deep cut in oil production, profusely irritating the White House. The Biden administration has been aiming to bring down gas prices by all means including releasing the U.S.'s strategic petroleum reserves and a visit to Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, this summer. Sadly, the decision made by OPEC+ is diametrically opposite to what the U.S. had expected and intended.
