Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Saturday said the current situation of the Korean Peninsula is complex and sensitive and China hopes relevant parties to avoid irritating words and actions and to create conditions for restarting dialogue.

"We hope that parties concerned on the issue of the Korean Peninsula will keep to the direction of seeking political settlement and address each other's concerns in a balanced way through dialogue and consultation," she told a daily press conference on Saturday in wake of recent missiles launches from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and ensuing joint military drill between the U.S. and the Republic of Korea (ROK).
