Former Croatian President Ivo Josipovic said China has made important contributions to what he thinks is the most critical issue in international politics - world peace.
As an important force on the global stage, China has been actively engaged in coordinating and resolving major issues facing the world, Josipovic said in a recent interview with China Media Group.
The former president also praised China's economic accomplishments in the past 10 years, saying he was deeply impressed by its success in eliminating extreme poverty.
Noting that 2022 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Croatia, Josipovic said bilateral relations have progressed especially in recent years, when Chinese corporations participated in the construction of Croatia's infrastructure projects such as the Peljesac Bridge.
The Peljesac Bridge project speaks volumes about the vast potential for cooperation between China and Croatia, he said, adding that Chinese firms are completely worthy of trust by the Croatian government.
