Chen Jialing was born to a poverty-stricken family and endured tough times while pursuing his dream of becoming an accomplished painter. He later won widespread acclaim and held a solo art exhibition in his 70s, when most artists have already retired. Now the 85-year-old is still using his brush to portray the magnificent scenery of his motherland, while sharing Chinese narratives with the world.
