Adam Foster is a great-nephew of the late Helen Foster Snow, a Utah-born, author and journalist known for her writings on the Communist Party of China (CPC) before the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. Helen Foster was once married to Edgar Snow.

Inspired by his great-aunt, Adam Foster established the Helen Foster Snow Foundation in 2018. Having visited China many times, Adam said he is deeply impressed by the rapid development of China's infrastructure construction, as well as the Chinese people's hospitality and positivity.
