U.S. President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he does not think Russian President Vladimir Putin would use a tactical nuclear weapon.
Asked by CNN anchor Jake Tapper how realistic he believed it would be for Putin to use a tactical nuclear weapon, Biden responded, "Well, I don't think he will."
Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on September 27 that Russia has the right to use nuclear weapons "if we or our allies are attacked using this type of weapon or if aggression with the use of conventional weapons threatens the very existence of our state," in response to Western countries' claim of a "Russia nuclear threat."
Talking about the recession in the United States, Biden said he doesn't think there will be a recession.
"If it is, it'll be a very slight recession. That is, we'll move down slightly," Biden said.
During the interview with CNN, Biden also vowed "consequences" for Saudi Arabia after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies decided to cut production by two million barrels a day from November.
"I'm not going to get into what I'd consider and what I have in mind. But there will be consequences," he told CNN.
