China's water conservancy investment hits record high

China invested a record 823.6 billion yuan (about $115 billion) in water conservancy projects between January and September this year, an increase of 64.1 percent year on year, Vice Minister of Water Resources Liu Weiping told the press on Tuesday. According to Liu, the total investment is projected to exceed 1 trillion yuan (about $139 billion) by year end.
