Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng has been sacked from his position, BBC reported on Friday.
Kwarteng confirmed later on social media that he had resigned after Prime Minister Liz Truss asked him to stand aside.
Former British foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt was appointed as the new British chancellor of the exchequer, Prime Minister Liz Truss' office later announced in a tweet on Friday.
