Chinese peacekeeper teams to South Sudan and the disputed Abyei Area have been awarded the United Nations (UN) Peace Medal of Honor. All 331 Chinese peacekeepers from the engineering detachment and medical detachment to South Sudan were awarded the medal for their outstanding contributions. In the meantime, 86 Chinese peacekeepers from the helicopter detachment to the Abyei Area were also awarded the UN Peace Medal of Honor for their devotion and sacrifice.
