Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County sits in the north of Liuzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. With meager arable land, 90 percent of the county is situated in the mountains. Early in the morning, local villager Yang Yibiao goes to his field in the mountain to plant baldcypress seedlings.
Planting trees is a tradition of the Dong people, especially during spring time. Relying on rich forestry resources, the traditional wooden craftsmanship has become the "gold key" for the prosperity of the Dong community. Check the video to learn the story of Dong people and their woods.
