Peaceful reunification and "One Country, Two Systems" have been China's fundamental policy over the Taiwan question, said Sun Yeli, spokesperson for the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the press conference on Saturday.
"Peaceful reunification is in the best interest of the Chinese nation, including Taiwan compatriots, in the best interest of China's long-term, steady development, and is our first choice for the solution to the Taiwan question," Sun said. "We are willing to continue to make the sincerest and the greatest efforts for peaceful reunification and creating wide space for peaceful reunification."
