China's first extreme high-altitude photovoltaic station starts operation

China's first extreme high-altitude photovoltaic base project in Sichuan Province has successfully connected to the grid and has been generating power, officially marking its operation. The highest photovoltaic station in China is 3,900 to 4,500 meters above sea level, located in Sichuan's Dinggong Grassland. Covering an area of about 910 hectares, its average annual power generation can reach about 1.268 billion kWh, saving about 390,000 tonnes of standard coal and reducing 1.07 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions yearly.
