Ningxia is a landlocked region in China's northwest, surrounded by deserts on three fronts. Over half of its land area was once threatened by desertification. Over-exploitation of natural resources worsened the deteriorating environment. Against these odds, Ningxia carved out a sustainable path to prosperity. CGTN finds out how prospects turned around.
