All ethnic groups in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region enjoy a safer and happier life than before, said Zulhayat Ismayil, a delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Zulhayat, deputy secretary and vice president of Kashgar University, made the remarks at the "Delegates' Corridor" ahead of the 20th CPC National Congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sunday.
The gross domestic product of Xinjiang has doubled while the average per capita disposable income of the region has more than doubled in the past decade, she said.
