Xie Chuntao, a delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has said the report to the 20th CPC National Congress will play a leading role in the country's development over the next five years.
Xie, vice president of the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, made the remarks at the "Delegates' Corridor" ahead of the 20th CPC National Congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sunday.
Xie, who participated in soliciting opinions on the report, said the attention and efforts devoted by the central government to drafting, soliciting opinions and improving the report is rare to see in political parties in other countries.
"The report will play an important role in guiding and promoting China's future development, and it will ensure that China's modernization construction is carried out more steadily, faster and better," he said.
Amending the Party Constitution is one of the major tasks of the 20th CPC National Congress.
"Important theories, decisions and institutional provisions of the CPC in different periods are timely reflected in the Party Constitution to guide and regulate the Party's activities, including the behavior of Party organizations and members at all levels," Xie said, expressing endorsement to the amendment of the Party Constitution.
Xie, who was also a delegate to the 19th CPC National Congress, said qualification of the delegates is a "hard-earned" honor.
"It's rare for political parties in the world to make such great efforts to elect outstanding members of the party as the CPC does," he said.
Xie said the 20th CPC National Congress will become an important milestone along the path to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
