The track for the final section of Stage 2 of the United Arab Emirates' national railway network mainline between Sharjah and Ras AI Khaimah was completed on October 16. Stage 2 was constructed jointly by China Railway Construction Corp. (CRCC) and local UAE enterprises, and will connect the five emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. Each of the project's three sections has a line interval length of 424 kilometers and a total track length of 650 kilometers. The project tackled numerous topographical challenges, including complex terrain, geological layers, vast deserts, mountainous areas and coastal regions across key sections of the country.
