Newly-elected Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson vowed in a statement released on Tuesday to combat crime and navigate the country's economic policy through recession and high inflation.
"The fight against crime must be won and security restored throughout our country," Kristersson said.
Kristersson appointed party colleagues Elisabeth Svantesson as finance minister and Tobias Billstrom as foreign minister in his minority coalition on Tuesday.
Sweden's parliament confirmed Kristersson on Monday after more than a month of talks to forge a coalition agreement and agree on a policy platform with the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats, who will support the government in parliament.
