Two Chinese giant pandas, a three-year-old female names Si Hai and a four-year-old male named Jing Jing, arrived in Doha via a special flight from China on October 19. A giant panda house was specially built by the local government to offer them the best living conditions and services possible. According to staff members of the house, Qatar's dry climate and high temperatures are the biggest challenges for the pandas. To ensure the breeding, food supply, and medical safety of the giant pandas, the venue is equipped with a nursery room, a treatment room and a food preparation room.
