Rim of Qinghai Lake Series | Episode 4: Guards for life
CGTN
05:23

In Qinghai Lake in northwest China's Qinghai Province, the naked carps' annual migration occurs in a time of fluctuating water levels. Low water levels often strand the fish, threatening their survival. When the fish are found trapped in the shallow water, the Tibetans living in the area lend a helping hand voluntarily by moving the fish to a navigable stream with more water.
