Young Chinese technicians won two gold, one silver and one medallion for excellence in all four contests at the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition held in Helsinki, Finland on Monday.
Chinese competitors Wang Pei and Dong Qing took home the gold medals in the beauty therapy and fashion technology contests, respectively. Meanwhile, Shen Wenqing got second place in hairdressing, and Yang Lingzhi won a medallion for excellence in floristry contests.
After the winning, Wang said she felt all the hard work and effort were paid off.
Hailing from southwest China's Chongqing City Management College, Wang took home China's first gold medal in beauty therapy in the competition.
Dong, from central China's Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College, is going to become a teacher and said she hopes to pass on what she learned to future generations.
Hers was the third consecutive medal the Chinese team has won in fashion technology.
Chinese competitors also did well in other competitions. They won two gold and two bronze medals in the plastering and drywall systems, mobile robotics, mechanical engineering CAD and health and social care competitions, respectively, in Bordeaux, France on Sunday.
On the same day, China also won first place in an electronics competition in Switzerland.
So far, China has won a total of 15 gold, three silver and three bronze medals, and five medallions for excellence in the 27 competitions that were completed, according to the country's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
