As of October 18, the Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve has monitored the arrival of 52 species and more than 120,000 migratory birds in east China's Jiangxi Province, according to the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Forestry.

Rare migratory bird species such as the oriental white stork, white spoonbill, grey crane, cygnet and goose duck show up in the Baishazhou wetland in Poyang County, east China's Jiangxi Province.

Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China, is also the largest avian winter habitat in Asia. It is an important wintering ground for waterbirds along their migratory route. Every year from October to April, more than 700,000 migratory birds fly to Poyang Lake for the winter.
