6 on board crashed helicopter found alive in Malaysia

The six people on board the helicopter that crashed in Malaysia's Pahang state have been found safe, local media reported on Wednesday, citing the Perak police chief Yusri Hassan Basri.

Five of them suffered injuries and would be taken to the nearest hospital in Cameron Highlands for treatment, Yusri Hassan Basri said, adding that the six victims were found near the site of the crash.

Earlier, it was reported that the six people on board the helicopter were the pilot, a doctor and four medical staff.

According to the fire and rescue department, the pilot escaped unharmed.

The helicopter carrying one pilot and five passengers was flying from Perak state to Pahang state when the accident occurred, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia said in a statement.
