People from the Zhuang ethnic group in Tiandeng County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, staged a special folk dance competition, a time-honored event in celebration of bumper autumn harvest, to mark the Frost's Descent Festival.
Thousands of people from across the county, including men and women, old and young, formed 17 teams to present their diverse and distinctive dancing steps.
"I think this dance competition is very meaningful for carrying forward the distinctive culture of our Zhuang ethnic group. We infused some of our farming gestures into the dance to depict amusement over a good harvest," said Zhao Caiyun, one of the performers.
