Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Tuesday stressed thoroughly studying, understanding and implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC to strive for new successes in building a modern socialist country in all respects.

Xi made the remarks while presiding over and addressing the first group study session of the Political Bureau of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
