China's actual use of foreign capital grows 15.6% from Jan to Sept

China's actual use of foreign capital surged 15.6 percent on a yearly basis to 1003.76 billion yuan ($139.31 billion) from January to September, said the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

In U.S. dollar terms, the country's actual use of foreign capital grew by 18.9 percent.

The high-tech industry saw actual use of foreign capital surge by 32.3 percent year on year, including 48.6 percent in high-tech manufacturing and 27.9 percent in high-tech services, official data showed.

A total of 741.43 billion yuan in foreign capital was used in the services sector, up 6.7 percent compared with last year.

Compared to the same period of last year, actual foreign investment from Germany increased by 114.3 percent, South Korea by 90.7 percent, Japan by 39.5 percent, and the UK by 22.3 percent.
