Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday met with Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz at the Presidential Complex in the capital Ankara, according to Türkiye's presidency.
Gantz earlier held his first meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar since 2010 after years of strained bilateral ties.
"We welcomed the re-establishment of defense ties between our countries as an important step towards working together to promote regional peace and stability," Gantz tweeted after meeting with Akar.
