Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan will make a state visit to China from November 2 to 4, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

Hassan will be the first African leader invited after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said.

President Xi Jinping will hold a welcome ceremony and a welcoming banquet for President Hassan, and the two leaders will hold talks and jointly attend the signing ceremony of cooperation documents, the spokesperson said, adding that Hassan will meet with Premier Li Keqiang and the National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Li Zhanshu separately.

In recent years, China and Tanzania have deepened political mutual trust, produced fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation, and maintained sound cooperation in regional and international affairs, Mao said.

China believes Hassan's visit will inject new impetus into the comprehensive and in-depth development of China-Tanzania ties and make new progress in the friendly cooperation between both countries, she added.
