German inflation edged up in October to 10.4 percent but the pace of consumer price rises in Europe's top economy was slower compared with previous months, official data showed Friday.
The increase was driven by higher food and services costs while energy prices climbed less dramatically, according to preliminary data from statistics agency Destatis. In September, the inflation rate stood at 10.0 percent.
