Decoupling from Russia sees European nations look to Norway for help with energy needs

The market price of natural gas has dropped this week to its lowest since June. However, with European nations looking to wean themselves off Russian energy, which provided nearly 40 percent of the EU's natural gas in 2021, and energy ministers from the 27 member states unable to find a common solution for how to keep prices down across the bloc, Norway is increasingly being turned to in the hope that the Nordic country can hold the key to unlocking Europe's energy dilemma.
