"China is producing very different things nowadays," says Fernando Munoz, a current affairs commentator from Colombia. Having lived in China for more than two decades, he shared his observations on China's economic development, noting the GDP that used to be propelled by cheap labor has been replaced by a very different knowledge-oriented GDP that is much more stable and sustainable. "That actually is beneficial not only for China but for the world at large."
He also mentioned China's policy towards COVID-19 prevention and control, saying the reason why we "have the opportunity to continue to develop is because we are kept alive," adding that "no country can come to China and discuss their efficiency and their efficacy in terms of controlling the pandemic. No country has the numbers and the figures to challenge and to criticize what China does."
