The U.S. will send Ukraine a new $275 million package of weapons and other aid, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
There are no major new weapons in the U.S. package, according to AP.
The U.S. aid is largely aimed at restocking thousands of rounds of ammunition for weapons systems already there, including the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
The package will include more ammunition for HIMARS, 500 precision-guided 155 mm artillery rounds, 2,000 155 mm rounds of remote anti-armor mine systems, more than 1,300 anti-armor systems, 125 Humvees, small arms and over 2.75 million rounds of small arms ammunition and four satellite communications antennas, deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh confirmed.
Meanwhile, the U.S. efforts to roll out a price cap on Russian oil has hit delays, reported U.S. media.
Officials aren't planning to set the level of the cap until after the U.S. midterm elections on November 8, reported The Wall Street Journal citing people familiar with the plans on Friday.
