The operating income of China's major cultural enterprises hit 8.65 trillion yuan ($1.19 trillion) in the first three quarters of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 1.4 percent, official data showed Sunday.

The growth rate accelerated 1.1 percentage points from that in the first half of the year, demonstrating recovery momentum, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.

Cultural enterprises, each with an annual main business revenue of at least 20 million yuan, saw their operating income rebound from a decrease of 3.8 percent in the second quarter to an increase of 3.7 percent in the third quarter, the NBS added.

Compared with the same period last year, five industries achieved double-digit growth, including digital publishing and culture-related wearable technology manufacturing.
