The Russian Ministry of Defense on Sunday said it had recovered fragments of sea drones used in the attack against ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships in the waters near the city of Sevastopol.

The wreckage of marine unmanned vehicles, used by Kyiv under the leadership of British representatives, was discovered and raised to the surface, the defense ministry said, adding that Canadian-made navigation modules were installed on the drones.

Ukraine launched drones from the coast near Odesa, then changed direction from the "grain corridor" security zone to Sevastopol, according to the ministry.

The ministry said Ukraine attacked the Black Sea Fleet near Sevastopol with 16 drones early on Saturday, and that British navy "specialists" had helped coordinate what it called a terrorist attack, a claim Britain has denied.

Ukrainian officials have suggested that Russia itself may have been responsible for the explosions, which it has used as a pretext to pull out of a UN-brokered grain deal, a move that undermines efforts to ease a global food crisis.
