Chinese shuttlers won two titles at the French Open 2022 on Sunday, including He Bingjiao in the women's singles and the pair of Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong in the mixed doubles.

He beat Rio Olympics champion, Spanish veteran Carolina Marin 16-21, 21-9, 22-20 in the final, as she went into the match with only one victory from their previous eight encounters.

Coming back from one set down to level the match, He managed to win the last two points of the decider after missing out on two match points. 

In the mixed doubles final, Zheng and Huang edged past Robin Tabeling and Selena Piek of the Netherlands 21-16, 14-21, 22-20, clinching their ninth title of the season.

"Every match makes us stronger, even when things get tense, we believe we can win," Zheng said after the match. 

In the men's singles final, Tokyo Olympics champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark defeated compatriot Rasmus Gemke 21-14, 21-15, winning his seventh title of the season.

Malaysian duo Tan Pearly and Thinaah Muralitharan won the women's doubles title, and Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the men's doubles title.
