China Manned Space Agency on Monday announced that the Long March-5B Y4 carrier rocket carrying the Mengtian lab module blasted off at 3:37 pm Beijing time at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in the southernmost island province of Hainan. CGTN reporter Wu Lei speaks to Meng Yao, deputy chief designer for the Mengtian lab module's general system from Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, CASC. Meng talks about the major tasks of the Mengtian, including some special designs and functions.
