China and Vietnam will strengthen and deepen their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to promote bilateral ties onto a healthy and stable development path, said a joint statement issued on Tuesday.
As good neighbors and friends, the two countries are committed to people's well-being, national prosperity and the noble cause of peace and development of mankind, the statement said.
The friendship of "brothers plus comrades" between China and Vietnam is the fortune of the two peoples, which needs to be inherited, maintained and developed, according to the statement.
Looking ahead, the two parties and the two countries should adhere to the direction of socialism, jointly promote the continuous development of socialism and show the advantages and bright prospects of the socialist system, read the statement.
Step up comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership
In a world that is undergoing profound, complex and unpredictable change, China and Vietnam should strengthen strategic communication, improve political mutual trust, and uphold mutual respect and equality to keep bilateral ties developing in the right direction, the statement said.
The two countries should enhance their coordination in international affairs and join hands to address regional and global challenges, so as to contribute more to maintaining regional and global peace and promoting joint development.
More high-level exchanges
The joint statement also noted that the two top leaders of the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Vietnam should keep regular contact to chart the course for bilateral ties.
The two sides will maintain and strengthen the tradition of high-level exchanges between the two parties and the two countries to exchange views on major bilateral issues and regional and global situations via bilateral visits, exchanges of special envoys, phone calls, annual meetings and other methods of communication.
Giving full play to the advantage that the two countries are geographically close and complementary in industries, China and Vietnam should step up practical and efficient cooperation in all fields, the statement said.
