The on-orbit release mechanism loaded on the Mengtian lab module will enable the China Space Station to release micro-spacecrafts and satellites into space, which is expected to cut costs of launching them separately with rockets.
China launched Mengtian, the second lab component of its under-construction space station at 15:37 (Beijing Time) on October 31.
