The upcoming 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be a highlight in global economic recovery and growth for this year, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
In a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said as the first major international expo to be held by China after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), this CIIE will see more participating countries, more diverse exhibits, more premium products and various activities that people can look forward to.
Zhao noted that the report to the 20th CPC National Congress explicitly says that China is committed to its fundamental national policy of opening to the outside world, pursues a mutually beneficial strategy of opening-up and strives to create new opportunities for the world with its own development and contribute its share to building an open global economy.
"The success of the CIIE has been and will continue to be a good example of China's resolve and confidence to open up its market to the world and share development opportunities with other countries," said Zhao.
