The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired over 100 rounds of artillery into a maritime "buffer zone" in the East Sea, South Korea's military said on Wednesday.
The DPRK also fired six additional missiles off its east and west coasts on Wednesday after launching 17 missiles earlier in the day, Seoul's Joint Chief of Staff said. The firing violates a 2018 inter-Korean military agreement to reduce tension on the peninsula, the military said.
The Japan Coast Guard also said the DPRK fired at least one likely short-range ballistic missile eastward, which flew at an "extremely low altitude below 50 kilometers at maximum."
