The Republic of Korea (ROK) launched three air-to-surface missiles toward north of its maritime border with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) after the DPRK fired 10 missiles of various types on Wednesday, Yonhap News Agency has reported, citing the ROK military.
South Korea's military said later on Wednesday it has lifted an air raid alarm imposed earlier in the day on the island of Ulleung off the country's east coast. Local television networks also said in subtitles that residents in Ulleung were advised to be prepared to evacuate, which Yonhap said was a downgrade from the earlier air raid warning.
