China's National Meteorological Center issued a yellow alert for Typhoon Nalgae at 10 a.m. on November 2.
Nalgae, the 22nd typhoon of 2022, was located in the northeastern part of the South China Sea, 320 kilometers east by south of Taishan City, Guangdong Province. The wind speed near its eye has reached Force 10. Nalgae is expected to gradually weaken as it moves northwest at 15 km per hour. It will make landfall as a tropical depression or a tropical storm between Zhuhai and Yangjiang cities in Guangdong on the morning of November 3. It's also possible that Nalgae will dissipate on the west coast of Guangdong on November 3.
Gale forecast: From 2 p.m. on November 2 to 2 p.m. on November 3, Nalgae and cold air masses will generate Force 7 or 8 gales in the Taiwan Straits, the northern parts of the South China Sea and the coasts of Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan and Guangdong. There will be Force 9 or 10 gales with gusts up to 11 or 12 in some areas of the Taiwan Straits, the northern parts of the South China Sea, the Pearl River Estuary, and the coasts of Hong Kong and eastern Guangdong.
Precipitation forecast: From 2 p.m. on November 2 to 2 p.m. on November 3, there will be heavy rain in the Pearl River Estuary, its eastern coast and the eastern part of Taiwan.
