The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired three short-range ballistic missiles eastward after it slammed the United States and South Korea's decision to extend the ongoing Vigilant Storm joint air drills, Yonhap reported Thursday, citing the Republic of Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Extending the drills "is a very dangerous and wrong choice," and "the U.S. and South Korea will get to know what an irrevocable and awful mistake they made," Pak Jong Chon, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, said in a statement.
