The Shenzhou-14 crew entered the Mengtian lab module at 3:12 p.m. Beijing Time on Thursday, according to the China Manned Space Agency.
Astronaut Chen Dong told the China Media Group in a live interview that he was very excited to meet with the Mengtian after 152 days on duty in space and that their home is more spacious now.
Chen added that China's space station is about to embark on a new journey.
According to the plan, the crew will see the arrival of the cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-5 and the Shenzhou-15 crewed spaceship. The two crews will complete the first in-orbit shift of astronauts in China's space station.
Launched on Monday afternoon, the Mengtian docked with the front port of the Tianhe core module at 4:27 a.m. on Tuesday after entering the planned orbit.
The lab module completed transposition at 9:32 a.m. on Thursday, marking the formation of the space station's basic T-shape configuration.
